I've been a volunteer & mentor and helped support various different nonprofit organizations for decades, but in 2016 I started getting the feeling I could - and should - be doing more to help foster transformative change throughout the community. So, in 2018 I launched The Marcus Harris Foundation in an effort not only to address such issues as education, poverty, and homelessness, but also support the individuals & families affected by them.
I can honestly say I'm amazed at just how much The MHF has grown over the years, thanks in large part to all the volunteers, donors, and agencies who've helped support our ongoing efforts. Because of them, we've raised tens of thousands of dollars for teachers in underresourced schools, boosted the social outcomes of hundreds of underprivileged kids, and helped lift thousands of individuals & families permanently out of food insecurity - and we're just getting started.

The difference we make in our families' lives is literally lifesaving.
Providing free groceries & supplies to our Neighborfood Express families is just the beginning.
Bridging the digital divide is just one more way we're helping lift kids & families permanently out of food insecurity.
Boosting juvenile literacy is crucial to ending cycles of intergenerational poverty, which helps eliminate perpetual food insecurity. Thanks to our amazing partners at Wake Up and Read, we're able to do that for dozens of kids and families each week through Neighborfood Express.
